The exposure of the fossilized parts of the 170 million-year-old tree trunk discovered in Golestan province once again indicated the importance of presenting the natural capabilities of the province, preserving the geological heritage and providing a field for scientific and educational exploitation of this valuable work and revealed an opportunity for scientific development.
This natural creation, identified in 1400 on the Azadshahr-Shahrod road, has preserved part of the ancient history of the earth and the vegetation of previous periods.
Based on preliminary investigations, this work probably belongs to the group of conifers, but the exact identification of its species requires more specialized studies.
