Bakai: The common cultural heritage of Iran and Uzbekistan is the basis for strengthening friendly relations.

🔹 The Foreign Ministry spokesperson in response to a question that recently, during the visit of Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, to Uzbekistan and the publication of photos of his presence in areas such as Samarkand and Bukhara, several Iranian embassies published ironic content. This issue is said to have caused reactions among some officials in Uzbekistan. Can these developments affect the relations between Tehran and Tashkent? He said:

"The smell of Mullian's atmosphere reaches him.

Remember the kind friend my father-in-law."

"O Bukhara, be happy and live long.

"Mir Zei, you will be happy. ".

🔹 The relationship and interests of Iran and Uzbekistan are not limited to today and yesterday. Samarkand and Bukhara, like many ancient cities and regions of Central Asia, the Caucasus and the subcontinent, are part of Iran's shared civilizational and cultural heritage with other countries. We are proud of this shared heritage and should use it as a platform to strengthen relations with neighboring countries, including the countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus.

🔹 What happened, actually the audience of our friends in several embassies was the American side. The goal was to remind how the harsh words of the Americans about the civilization, culture and history of Iran are inappropriate and out of proportion in practice. The common heritage of Iran and the countries of the region can be seen everywhere in this region.

🔹 We highly value our relations with Uzbekistan and we are sure that, as mentioned, our shared assets in various countries, including neighboring countries and abroad, will form the basis for the continuation and strengthening of friendly relations between the nations.
