In response to IRNA;
Bekai: The meeting in Tehran could be a prelude to creating internal security. It is good that the countries of the region seek to create or at least think about regional security mechanisms based on their interests.
In response to IRNA's question, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today that the Deputy Secretary of the Supreme Council for National Security announced that the Islamic Republic of Iran is hosting senior officials in three countries in the region. Please explain about this visit and trip, in what format is this meeting going to take place and what topics will be raised in it? He said:
🔹 The Deputy Secretary of the Supreme Council for National Security announced that Tehran will today host senior officials of three countries, Turkey, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The defense minister of Saudi Arabia, the Pakistani army chief and the head of the Turkish intelligence agency are traveling to Tehran.
🔹 This initiative was proposed during Mr. Asim Munir's trip to Tehran and the Islamic Republic of Iran also reviewed it with a positive opinion. After making preparations, this meeting should take place today.
🔹 From our point of view, the fact that the countries of the region seek to create or at least think about regional security mechanisms based on their interests is a good thing. This meeting can be a prelude to further actions in order to shape endogenous security; This is an issue that we have been insisting on for several decades and we emphasize that the security of the region will only be guaranteed by relying on the will and security consideration of the countries of the region.
The events of the last two years, especially the last eight months, have proven that stable and reliable security in our region can only be achieved by establishing trust and cooperation between the countries of the region.
During the meetings of these three officials with the President and the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, these issues will be discussed. Since this meeting is the first of its kind, there will be various issues to consider and decide; But in general, the most important issues affecting the security of the region, including Israel's expansion and developments in occupied Palestine and the surrounding Lebanese areas, are discussed at this meeting.
In general, such a meeting cannot be held without considering the consequences of American military aggression against Iran on the security of the entire region. This issue is also one of the important issues that must be considered in this framework.
