🔹 In this framework, I will refer to the issue of Iraq. The American ground attack on Iraq happened in 2003, during the term of office of Dr. Harazi, who was killed. After the American intervention in Afghanistan, there were extensive discussions at the international level about the possibility of expanding the scope of American military operations and the possibility of attacking other countries, including Iran.
🔹 Under these circumstances, it was very important for us to be able to stand up to the political pressures of the United States and correctly explain Iran's positions, views and oppression at the international level. Of course, our goal was not to divert the danger from our country to Iraq.
🔹 When America launched a ground attack on Iraq, the position of the Islamic Republic of Iran was clear from the first hours. Killed Dr. Harazi explicitly condemned this ground attack. This position coincided with Iran's principled view of the presence of foreign forces in the region. A point of view we emphasize today. 🔹 Officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the slain Dr. Harazi, repeatedly emphasized the need for the withdrawal of American forces from Iraq and demanded that the United States transfer the administration of this country to the people of Iraq. This issue was one of the important axes of Iran's foreign policy during the period of the Harez ministry that was killed.
