Iran plays a role in Afghanistan's cotton transit route to Turkey.

Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Works said it was exporting 600 tons of cotton to Turkey via the Haf-Herat railway and Iran's rail network.

The ministry announced Thursday that the transfer is part of Afghanistan's expansion of trade and transit relations with countries in the region.
