The statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran condemning the intervention actions of the United States against Cuba.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran condemns the intervention actions of the United States against Cuba, including the inhumane sanctions against this country and the attempt to threaten and terrorize Cuban officials and personalities. In this context, he considers the arrest of former Cuban President Raul Castro a criminal and illegal act and strongly condemns it.
Undoubtedly, the policy of sanctions, pressure and intimidation applied to the Cuban people for more than 7 decades is a violation of the United Nations Charter and contrary to the principles and rules of international law and human rights, and the US government should be responsible for the disastrous consequences of this policy on the basic human rights of the Cuban people.
The Islamic Republic of Iran, while declaring solidarity with the government and people of Cuba against the criminal actions of the United States, emphasizes the need to respect the national sovereignty, independence and right to self-determination of the Cuban people.
