Iraqi: The American attacks and capture of Iran's energy facilities left extensive environmental consequences
In recent years, in Gaza, Lebanon and Iran, we have seen how military attacks, in addition to human casualties and the destruction of vital infrastructure, have left deep and sometimes lasting effects on the environment. In Gaza, the dimensions of the environmental disaster are so wide that the United Nations Environment Program, UNEP, spoke of unprecedented environmental damage. In Lebanon, the use of weapons and fires caused by attacks destroyed parts of forests and agricultural areas and gardens.
Our dear country Iran is not immune to this phenomenon. During America and Israel's military aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, ground attack on oil, refinery and energy facilities and ground attack on nuclear facilities, which is a crime under international law, created serious environmental risks. In March 1404, the United Nations Environment Program confirmed that oil facilities in and around urban areas of Iran, including Tehran, were targeted for ground attacks and oil fires were causing the release of hazardous compounds.
