Bekai: Europe's inaction regarding the sanctions of the International Criminal Court and the US threat to dismantle it "brick by brick" will be a partner in the ground attack on law and justice.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmail Bakaei, wrote on Channel X in response to the new American sanctions against the International Criminal Court and the threat of dissolution:
🔹Marco Rubio threatened that if America's allies do not restrain the International Criminal Court, Washington will dismantle it "brick by brick".
Please remember the 1930s: the international order collapses not only as a result of aggression, but when the use of force is normalized and the world is silent about it.
Europe should be asked: does standing by an ally mean protecting international law and the normative-institutional system after World War II, or accompanying it in their dismantling?! If law and justice are sacrificed to please an aggressive and tyrannical ally, talk of human rights and a rules-based international order will be nothing more than empty slogans.
