Salami: Marco Rubio's statements show that he does not have an accurate understanding of Mahdism, Shiism, and the concept of the end of times in Salami's thought.
Hossein Salimi, professor of international relations at Allameh Tabataba'i University, said at the book launch and review meeting of books authored by Iran's former foreign minister:
๐น In my opinion, in the international arena, the semantic system proposed by Dr. Zarif is the exact opposite of the semantic system proposed by the current U.S. foreign policy apparatus, especially the country's foreign minister.
๐น I do not know who provided such advisors to the U.S. Secretary of State to react in such a way to historical, theoretical, and even Salami-related issues; areas in which he lacks knowledge. In fact, he is outlining a speech whose elements I tried to identify before this meeting by conducting a very brief content analysis of his speech. ๐น The first element of this statement is the attempt to explain the world today based on a fundamental and apocalyptic conflict; a conflict that ultimately leads to total war, on one side of which is a Shiite political thought based on Mahdism.
๐น Marco Rubio has raised such a perspective many times in his speeches. It is clear that he understands neither the meaning of Mahdism, nor Shiism, nor the concept of the end of times in Salami's thought. He does not understand that in Salami's thought, especially in the Shiite concept of the end of days, the subject is not a final and ultimate war, but the rational development of humanity.
