The 90-minute agreement between Britain and the Israeli regime on the fate of the British consulate in East Jerusalem prevented an immediate escalation of diplomatic tensions, but the conflicting positions of the two sides and London's insistence on maintaining the right of reciprocity show that differences still remain and the current fragile crisis of an agreement to buy time is more than an attempt to buy time.
