๐น Following the continuous consultations of the Salami Council and the diplomatic apparatus on various foreign policy issues, meetings were held on Tuesday evening in the presence of Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and a number of representatives of the Salami Council.
In this three-hour meeting, attended by Mr. Ali Babaei Karnami, head of the Social Committee, and a number of representatives of the Salami Council, our country's Foreign Minister presented a detailed report on the discussions and activities held during the trip of the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran to New York to participate in the 80th annual UN General Assembly session. Referring to the numerous consultations he and the president held with various countries participating in the UN summit, our country's Foreign Minister noted: The delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran explained Iran's positions in the most expressive and authoritative way possible, supported by the resistance of Hamas and the perseverance of the Iranian nation against the military aggression of the enemies.
Referring to the opportunity of the UN General Assembly meeting to explain Iran's innovative approach and present a 7-day plan to restore security to the Strait of Hormuz, our country's Foreign Minister emphasized that the delegation of the Islamic Republic, based on the instructions of the country's competent authorities, presented our country's conditions and considerations to the mediators and actors, and that the Islamic Republic of Iran is as stubborn and determined in its defense as it is serious in utilizing diplomatic tools to secure national interests and security. Later in the meeting, the Foreign Minister, while answering questions and discussing the suggestions and views of the MPs, provided explanations on a diverse array of foreign policy and national security issues, including economic diplomacy, neutralizing sanctions, relations with neighbors, strengthening public and media diplomacy, documenting the war crimes of the Zionist regime, and countering the hostile and bloodthirsty policies of the US.
While appreciating the efforts and initiatives of the diplomatic apparatus in defending the national interests and rights of the Iranian people, the MPs emphasized the continuation of everyone's efforts to maintain national unity and cohesion, as well as the simultaneous support for the field and diplomacy in order to defend Iran's identity.
