Kadermarzi: The villages are the central axis of the country's food security and production

Kadir Marzai, CEO of the National Insurance Fund Farmers, Villagers and Nomads:

Today, October 15, is the Day of the Villages and Nomads. According to the country's latest official census in 2016, more than 20 million and 735 thousand people, equivalent to 26% of Iran's population, live in villages.

The rural population of Iran alone is more than the population of 135 countries in the world and even exceeds the total population of countries such as Belgium, Greece, Sweden, Portugal, Austria, Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates; This figure shows the need for the government structure to pay special attention to serving this part of society.

๐Ÿ”น Unfortunately, after 1340, due to the adoption of a wrong policy in the agricultural economy, the country moved away from the position of exporting strategic products such as wheat, and our self-reliance in this sector decreased. In the current situation and relying on the principles of the resistance economy, returning to the vast rural capacities and supporting the producers of this sector is an inevitable necessity for the country.
