Controlling inflation is the central bank's most important task

Abdulnaser Hammati, head of the central bank:

The central bank at least in the first 6 months of this year and of course our actions go back to a month or two before Eid, most of the things he did were actually intended to accomplish two important things.

One is to be able to control inflation, which is the central bank's most important task. Due to the increase in liquidity, as well as two wars in a row and pressures on liquidity, our liquidity has accelerated.

Second, to be able to supply basic goods, medicines and livelihood needs of people as well as raw materials for factories under special conditions where the pressures are high.

These two, in fact, were the central bank's main strategy during this period.
