Salehi Amiri:
The Iranian carpet is always alive and creative
🔹Sidarza Salehi Amiri, Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism said: The world knows Iran's handiwork and its living example is the carpet.
He continued: We faced challenges because of sanctions, not because the production is not beautiful; We used to have more than 2 million carpet weavers, but the American sanctions, which included carpets in the sanctions, reduced 50% of the weavers.
Salehi Amiri said: After that, the Chinese and the Indians, who are among Iran's serious competitors, copied the Iranian carpet and took over the world market.
He continued: The key point is that the Iranian carpet is alive and has new creations, right now weavers are weaving in many provinces from as far as Tabriz. 🔹Salehi Amiri added: Carpets always have their own customers, in addition to the fact that more than 400 types of handicrafts are sold in the world, 300 types are produced in Iran, which means that Iran has a large production potential that needs to be marketed.
He said: Handicraft is now a family's livelihood.
