🔹 Foreign Ministry Spokesperson in response to a question about the withdrawal of US forces from Iraq and what the impact of this development will be on Iraq's sovereignty and regional security arrangements, said:

🔹 In our estimation, this is an important and very joyful event in terms of establishing Iraq's sovereignty and national sovereignty, and on the other hand, it indicates America's failure.

After 23 years of occupying a country, we have seen its consequences over these two decades; the crimes committed during the occupation of Iraq by America and its allies. We will never forget the crime of Abu Ghraib prison, for example.

🔹 ISIS crimes and assassinations of Takfiris were also one of the products of the occupation of Iraq, because foreign occupation creates a platform for violence, division, and insecurity in countries, and in general, terrorism is one of the biggest beneficiaries of occupation and foreign intervention. 🔹 We hope that this important step will lead to the strengthening of relations between the two countries as well as the protection of Iraq's national sovereignty and independence; a very important issue for every country in the region.
