🎥 Baqaei: Even with a slim chance, Iran seizes diplomatic opportunities / The security of Hormuz and the region depends on stopping U.S. actions.
🔹 The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, in response to a question about the passage of Iraqi and Algerian oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz and whether the permits granted for ship transit will also include other countries friendly to Iran in the region, as well as the status of Iran's plan as a last chance for diplomacy before a potential military confrontation with the United States:
The central question is what to do to secure the Strait of Hormuz, the entire Persian Gulf region, and the Sea of Oman. The key to this issue is to stop America's aggressive and interventionist actions, because essentially the insecurity of the Strait of Hormuz occurred following the ground attack by America and Israel.
🔹 Regarding the current status of Iran's plan, we have never left the path of diplomacy. Although Dr. Araghchi also noted that there may be no reason to try diplomacy once again with parties that have not shown any commitment to fulfill their obligations, nevertheless, Iran's approach has always been to seize every opportunity—even if we feel there is little chance—to use the tool of diplomacy to prevent the escalation of tensions and achieve peace.
This is our approach, but the fact is that past experience and the approaches of the American side show that the other side is not serious about using diplomatic tools.
