This summer's heat broke the 2003 record

According to the report by the European Union's Copernicus Climate Change Service, the number of "very hot days" this summer reached an unprecedented high, and the persistent and unprecedented heat made this summer the third hottest summer on the continent since meteorological records began.

The summer weather in Western Europe was hotter and drier than ever, and in more than half of it the temperature reached over 30 degrees Celsius within 17 days. Meanwhile, only 7 very hot days were recorded in 2025, and the previous record in 2003 was 11 days.
