Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, welcomed the completion of the withdrawal of American forces and the international coalition from Iraq and stated that Washington's military intervention in 2003 under false pretenses is the root of several decades of widespread insecurity and instability in the Middle East region.
