Strong wind and rain in Ireland; 18 thousand households fell into an apple-out

Strong winds and heavy rainfall in parts of Ireland, mainly in the south and south-west of the country, caused widespread disruption and power outages in around 18,000 homes and commercial units, and authorities warned of the risk of flooding and difficult driving conditions.
