Iraqi gratitude for the solidarity of Niger's people with the people of Iran against American-Israeli military aggression
Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who traveled to New York to attend the annual UN General Assembly meeting, met on Monday evening with Niger's Foreign Minister, Bakary Yaou Sangaré, and exchanged views on Iran-Niger bilateral relations and international developments.
Our country's Foreign Minister thanked the people of Niger for expressing their solidarity with the people of Iran against the military aggression of the United States and Israel.
The Foreign Minister also expressed his satisfaction with the good and rapidly growing relations between the two countries in all fields, and appreciated Niger's principled stance in opposing the use of the IAEA Board of Governors as a tool against Iran.
In this meeting, the parties discussed ways to expand bilateral relations between Iran and Niger as well as joint cooperation within the framework of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES). Emphasizing the determination of the Islamic Republic of Iran to strengthen relations with African countries, especially the AES member states, the Foreign Minister expressed hope that a joint meeting between Iran and the three member states of the Sahel Alliance would be held as soon as possible.
The Foreign Minister also recalled the principled stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting the independence and national sovereignty of developing countries, condemned the continued pressure and illegal interventions of some Western countries, including France, in the internal affairs of African countries, and emphasized the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the efforts of the government of Niger to maintain national security and stability and to preserve the country's independence and stability.
Our country's Foreign Minister also briefed his Nigerien counterpart on developments in the West Asia region and the Iranian nation's defense of its national sovereignty and territorial integrity against the military aggression of the United States and Israel.
