Emphasizing that the UN Security Council must be reformed, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus said: This institution cannot remain in a form suitable for the middle of the 20th century.

According to IRNA from the Belta news agency, Maxim Ryzhenkov added on Saturday night at the UN General Assembly meeting in New York: The Security Council must be strengthened by expanding the circle of permanent members and including countries from the "Global South" that currently play a growing and important role in international affairs.

He noted: The voice of the world majority must be heard clearly and distinctly in the Security Council.
