Canada: The international order is very unstable

Anita Anand, Canada's foreign minister, warned at the UN General Assembly that the international order was entering an era of deep disruption and great powers were withdrawing from economic cooperation; he emphasized the necessity of striving for "strategic independence", diversifying Ottawa's business ties, supporting Ukraine and reforming international institutions.

The Canadian foreign minister also repeated the anti-Iranian claims and called Iran a threat to regional peace, and while repeating Ottawa's support for the Israeli regime and opposition to the role of Hamas, he emphasized his country's adherence to the two-state solution and the illegality of Israel's captive settlements in the West Bank.
