UN Secretary-General in meeting with Pezeshkian: Iran does not seek to acquire nuclear weapons / Iran's voice was the voice of peace and moderation.

António Guterres, UN Secretary-General, in a meeting with Pezeshkian regarding recent developments, stated that Iran has offered solutions to the current situation in recent weeks and expressed hope that these efforts will materialize as soon as possible.

Emphasizing Iran's principled and pacifist approach, he said: Your voice and Iran's voice was the voice of peace and moderation.

The UN Secretary-General also announced his plan to visit the region next week, saying he will ask all countries in the region to support the current diplomatic process and play a constructive role in advancing it.

Referring to the difficulty of the situation in parts of the region, including Lebanon and Yemen, Guterres emphasized that despite the complexity of the situation, efforts to find political and diplomatic solutions must continue. He expressed hope that new diplomatic moves will succeed and pave the way for political solutions.

Also, referring to the importance of the Strait of Hormuz, the UN Secretary-General viewed the opening of this passage as a global issue and stated that its security is linked to issues such as food security and international economic stability.

Guterres stated: We have no tools other than voice and speech, and emphasized that the UN will support efforts to establish stability and security in the region with all its might.

The UN Secretary-General also emphasized: Based on assessments, I believe that Iran does not seek to acquire nuclear weapons.
