🔸 Pezeshkian and Guterres emphasize diplomacy, regional peace, and problem-solving through dialogue

🔹 Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic, explained Tehran's positions on regional developments and the nuclear issue, emphasizing Iran's commitment to diplomacy and dialogue, the necessity of establishing regional security without the intervention of extra-regional forces, and the readiness to solve problems through political channels. Antonio Guterres also welcomed the recent diplomatic moves and stressed the necessity of continuing talks and trying to reach peaceful solutions.

Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, continuing his travel plans to New York, met with Mr. Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary-General, and spoke about developments in the region, issues related to Iran's nuclear program, diplomatic trends, and the need to strengthen peace and stability in the Middle East. In this meeting, the Iranian president expressed his appreciation for the role of the UN Secretary-General and expressed his solidarity with the government and Iran, saying: During my tenure, the Americans betrayed diplomacy three times, and this issue caused a severe blow to Iran's trust in the US.

Referring to Iran's nuclear issue, Dr. Pezeshkian called the claims made about the Islamic Republic of Iran's attempt to acquire nuclear weapons a delusion and slander, saying: Iran's goal is to acquire and benefit from nuclear knowledge and technology for peaceful purposes, not to produce nuclear weapons.

🔹 The President also viewed the actions of the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran, from the perspective of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as contrary to the United Nations Charter and international regulations, and described them as war crimes.

Dr. Pezeshkian emphasized: Iran has not left the negotiation table, but after past experience, it no longer trusts America. Referring to the necessity of confronting assassinations and maintaining regional security, the president saw America and the Israeli regime as an example of state assassination and stated: The Islamic Republic of Iran wants peace and security in the region and will not allow external pressure to force this country to surrender.

The president further emphasized that Iran is not interested in a clash with regional countries and said: We have deep historical and cultural ties with regional countries and have lived side by side throughout history.

Dr. Pezeshkian also emphasized that Iran is not Syria, Gaza, or Venezuela, adding: The Islamic Republic of Iran emphasizes its independence, territorial integrity, and internal capabilities.

Dr. Pezeshkian said: The Islamic Republic of Iran seeks to establish security in the Persian Gulf region and the Middle East and to solve regional problems through cooperation between regional countries, without the involvement of extra-regional forces.

The President added: If America leaves the region, many problems will be solved. The countries of the region themselves have the capacity and ability to resolve disputes and issues between them.

Iran's voice has been the voice of peace and moderation

Referring to recent developments, Antonio Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, stated in this meeting that Iran has proposed solutions to the current situation in recent weeks and expressed hope that these efforts will materialize as soon as possible.

Emphasizing Iran's principled and pacifist approach, he said: Your voice and Iran's voice was the voice of peace and moderation.

The UN Secretary-General also announced his plan to visit the region next week, saying he will ask all countries in the region to support the current diplomatic process and play a constructive role in advancing it.

Referring to the difficulty of the situation in parts of the region, including Lebanon and Yemen, Guterres emphasized that despite the complexity of the situation, efforts to find political and diplomatic solutions must continue. He expressed hope that new diplomatic moves will succeed and pave the way for political solutions.

Also, referring to the importance of the Strait of Hormuz, the UN Secretary-General viewed the opening of this passage as a global issue and stated that its security is linked to issues such as food security and international economic stability.

Guterres stated: We have no tools other than voice and speech, and emphasized that the UN will support efforts to establish stability and security in the region with all its might.

The UN Secretary-General also emphasized: Based on assessments, I believe that Iran does not seek to acquire nuclear weapons.
