🔸 Iraqi at the Indian Foreign Minister's meeting: The international community bears the responsibility to respond to the parties of aggression

Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, following his consultations with the foreign ministers of the countries present at the annual UN General Assembly meeting in New York, met this morning with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

In this meeting, the foreign ministers of Iran and India discussed bilateral relations and regional and international developments.

Explaining the latest developments in the region and explaining the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, our country's Foreign Minister viewed the violation of the US agreement and that country's aggressive approach towards Iran, including the naval blockade and aggression against Iranian commercial shipping, as the main factor for insecurity in the region and the Strait of Hormuz, and emphasized the international responsibility of the aggressors. Our country's Foreign Minister updated his Indian counterpart on the latest status of negotiations and understanding between Iran and Oman regarding the establishment of the Yemeni shipping lane in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the continued efforts of mediators in conveying the conditions and necessary elements for a return to the diplomatic process.

The foreign ministers of Iran and India, reviewing developments in the neighborhood of both countries, emphasized the importance of utilizing all capabilities to improve security and prevent the escalation of tensions in the region.

In this meeting, views were also exchanged on the implementation of understandings between the two countries in various economic and commercial fields, as well as strengthening high-level consultations.
