The British Foreign Office published a statement about the meeting between Ed Miliband and Seyed Abbas Iraqichi, the heads of the diplomatic agencies of London and Tehran, emphasized the reduction of tensions and the return to the path of diplomacy.

The British Foreign Ministry wrote without mentioning which side initiated the military aggression and then violated the agreement to end the war: "The Foreign Minister told the Iraqi that Iran should choose the path of de-escalation and diplomacy instead of prolonging the war."
