A statement from the Foreign Ministry spokesperson as part of the celebration 'Poetry with the Homeland' for the birthday of Hossein Munazavi
Asmaeil Bagaie, Foreign Ministry spokesperson, wrote on X about the birthday of Hossein Munazavi, the modern ghazal poet of our country:
“Today is the birthday of Hossein Munazavi, a modern ghazal poet and one of the prominent figures of the new Persian ghazal; a poet in whom love and homeland are not two separate worlds. In his poetry, Iran is not a painting on a wall, but a body for the soul and a soul for the body. He does not sing a lament for the homeland, but speaks of it with love. In his poetry, Iran smells of rain and the scent of poetry, and the Hafiz and Saei still breathe in its embrace.”
