Who is "Greenspan" the leading candidate for UN Secretary General?
Elaha Tahamsavi - IRNA reporter
"Rebecca Greenspan" from Costa Rica and the leading candidate for the UN Secretary General, not only dreams of sitting on the seat of this organization as the first woman representative of Latin America, but also believes that the UN, which grew out of the ruins of the World War, still has the ability to call rival countries to reconciliation and to solve global crises as an effective tool.
This Costa Rican economist with decades of international diplomatic activity and brilliant achievements (who was previously Vice President of Costa Rica) now seeks to use this experience at a crucial moment for the future of the United Nations and its ability to respond.
He says: "My life is based on my country's decision to invest in its people and the multilateral system, as well as on the courage of my parents who believed they could give me a better life."
