Jaafar Ma'ad Far, head of the national emergency organization:

Iran is a huge country with an area of more than 1,600,000 km² and 200,000 km of roads, so it is natural that we cannot be present everywhere.

🔹 In this situation the role of aerial emergency is emphasized to reach hard‑to‑access, nomadic and remote areas.

In an emergency there are more than 2,000 road bases, but only 30% of missions are on the road and 70% of the remaining missions are in villages leading to that road and the base is there.

🔹 Despite the special conditions in the country, 450 ambulances have entered the fleet and ambulances under these conditions cost over 25 billion tons, and we also have a contract for about 400‑500 vehicles.

It is expected that this number will join the fleet by the end of the year and about 200‑300 devices will be replaced.

Donors had a prominent role in meeting needs in the past year or two. Recently a donor purchased 5 ambulances abroad and we are in the process of clearing them for entry into the fleet.

We welcome these actions because the purchase cost made by donors abroad is about 50% lower than domestically, as the government exempted this sector from certain taxes.
