Independent: Trump turned the election into a referendum on himself and lost.
The "Independent" wrote that in the months leading up to the mid-term elections, Trump repeatedly asked voters to imagine that his name appeared on the ballot; Elections that actually became a referendum on his performance and popularity.
But the result was contrary to Trump's expectations and the Democrats won the Republican states and took control of both houses of Congress.
The increase in the cost of living, the war against Iran and dissatisfaction with the performance of the president were among the most important concerns of the voters. After the defeat, Trump blamed Fox News and the Republican candidates and did not accept responsibility for his party's failure.
