Gholamhossein Darzi, Iran's ambassador and commander of affairs at the United Nations, announced the Islamic Republic of Iran's support for Cuba and the lifting of sanctions against that country, saying: Sanctions are an example of economic assassination, and the use of armed militants is also an example of aggression based on international law.
