14-fold growth of Iran's electricity industry during the Islamic Republic.
Abbas Alibadi, Minister of Energy at the Siamin Energy Conference in Belarus:
The nominal installed capacity of the electricity industry of the Republic of Salami, Iran, has increased from 7,000 MW in 1979 to more than 103,000 MW in 2026.
This growth was achieved in a situation where the country's population grew 2.5 times during this period, but the electricity industry grew 14 times.
The development of Iran's electricity industry continues.
Managing consumption, increasing productivity, reducing energy intensity, modernizing the network, reducing losses and developing renewable energy are the country's top priorities, and achieving these goals requires regional and international cooperation.
The development of electricity generation capacity must be monitored in parallel with increasing productivity, reducing environmental impacts and strengthening the resilience of the networks.
Smartening networks, developing smart meters, analyzing data and using artificial intelligence are more accurate, fair and efficient ways to manage energy consumption. Due to the consequences of climate phenomena, including El Nino, it is necessary to use climate forecasts, early warning systems and proactive planning in the management of energy networks.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to share its experiences in the field of electricity industry development, consumption management, use of new technologies and increasing the resilience of networks with friendly countries and welcomes constructive cooperation.
