In Taiwan, a strong typhoon almost took a person.

According to local authorities, one person died after being thrown into the sea from the beach. More than 500 people were injured due to traffic accidents, falling billboards and trees. The storm also knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of homes and caused the cancellation of hundreds of flights.

Typhoon Champi is now weakening and moving towards the coast of China.
