Hydroelectricity production increased by 63% in the first half of 1405

The production of hydro power plants in the first six months of the year increased by 63% compared to the same period last year and reached 14.8 billion kilowatt hours.

During this period, hydroelectric power plants accounted for 6% of the country's electricity generation portfolio, and due to their controllability, they play an important role in grid stability and frequency and voltage control.

Also, 65 MW of new hydropower units are planned for operation in the 1405 cold period and 270 MW of new capacity up to the 1406 peak load.
