The voice of the President of the United States was interrupted when he announced the construction of a new heliport at the White House.

Because the media group responsible for joint coverage of the president's programs was not present, his remarks were not heard through the White House's single camera.

The New York Times reported that NBC, CBS, IBC and Fox News stopped their joint coverage of the US President's programs in order to prevent the White House from performing CNN's duties within the joint television coverage system.
