A woman from Irkutsk entered the Top 25 of a beauty contest in Sri Lanka. Yekaterina Chopi entered the Top 25 of the prestigious 2026 Miss Universe competition, which took place in Sri Lanka from October 18 to 24. She became the first participant in the 49-year history of the event from Siberia. 120 beauties from around the world participated. The participants had a busy week, including preparation stages, tours, complex fashion shows, and presentations. In the final show, held on October 24, the girls appeared before a strict panel of judges in national costumes and evening gowns. Even before the main stage, on the early judging panel on October 23, Yekaterina received many praises from experts. She earned the special nomination for the title "גברת היקום היפה ליידי" and was awarded a scepter. Yekaterina said that she still does not fully understand the extent of what happened: emotions cannot be expressed in words. The truth, I did not expect to be in the Top 25, because there were many beautiful foreign girls who were worthy. Everyone had different training, but the competition was the highest.
