Bakai: We advise the United Arab Emirates government to adhere to the principle of good neighborliness. The islands of Abu Musi, Great Tunab and Little Tunab are an inseparable and eternal part of Iran's territorial area, and repeating illusory and baseless claims about them will not change the specific geographic, historical and legal facts. Such an action by Canada - which itself faces territorial claims from the American government - is a short-sighted action, violates the basic principles of the United Nations Charter and is contrary to international law, and entails the international responsibility of the Canadian government. Bakay advised the UAE government to adhere to the principle of good neighborliness instead of fruitlessly repeating territorial claims against a large neighboring country.
