Iran, as one of the founders of the forum and holder of the second largest proven gas reserves in the world, has an active presence at this summit. The main members of GECF hold about 70% of the world's proven gas reserves. Hamid Burd emphasized on correcting the forum's strategy, strengthening the gas value chain and developing technological cooperation. Iran's proposal is to examine the road map for increasing the share of natural gas in the global energy mix to the level of 30%.
