Manuel Neuer, goalkeeper of Bayern Munich, on the day he broke the record of the oldest player in the history of this club, suffered a partial tear of a tendon in his right leg and will probably be absent until January 2027.
On Sunday, November 8, Bayern Munich announced that medical tests confirmed a partial rupture of one of the tendons in the right leg of this 40-year-old goalkeeper. Neuer will not be able to return to action until January, and as such, is expected to miss all of Bayern's remaining games in 2026.
On Saturday, during Bayern's 2-1 win over Mainz in the Bundesliga, Neuer played at the age of 40 years and 225 days and became the oldest player in the club's history by surpassing Brent Dreher's record.
However, the right leg injury, which had kept him out of four matches earlier, worsened again and Neuer left the field before the end of the first half.
