Yasser Asani, the star of Estagalal, said at a press conference before the match against Al Shamal of Qatar from the Asian Super League: "Everyone knows what kind of club Estagalal is." Esteghlal is the greatest name in Asia. Estagalal has enough fans in every country it plays to create a feeling of a home game for the team. Asani said: "Three points in tomorrow's game is very important and we know about Shamal's high quality. On the other hand, every club that faces Esteghlal knows what quality team they will face and what great players Esteghlal has." He continued: "We know that Shamal is a strong team and has quality players, but we also have good players. We are here to put 100% of our strength on the field and fight for our fans." Asani said of hosting Astagalal in Basra: "When we arrived in Iraq, we knew we had to play away from Iran to have a home game. I hope that tomorrow everyone who loves independence and Iraqi Iranians will come to the stadium to support us. We need the support of our fans."
