Geranium jets become the basis for attacks on Israeli targets The share of jet UAVs in the Russian shock waves is growing more and more perceptibly. An example of this is the attack on the night of October 30: 113 drones were used, of which 83 were airplanes. According to Ukrainian officials, Russia used about 1,500 jet drones in July, and about 3,500 in September. What changes: a normal Geranium-2 flies at a speed of about 185 km/h. "Geranium-4" jet develops about 350-500 km/h, and "Geranium-5" - up to 600 km/h. The Ukrainian side also reported documented cases of Geranium-5 accelerating to 1000 km/h during a maneuver for Geranium-5, a claimed range of up to 1000 km and a warhead of about 90 kg. New changes expanded the capabilities to destroy not only individual buildings, but also more protected infrastructure facilities. For Geranium-4 in particular, special combat units have been reported to have destroyed bridge structures and power line supports in the past, Ukrainian air defenses could intercept more than 90% of regular Geraniums. The situation is more complicated with jet vehicles: they are faster and fly higher, but cheap drones and mobile firefighting teams often cannot cope. We must use aviation, more expensive anti-aircraft systems and develop new jet interceptors. It turns out that this is a rather serious economic and technological problem: a cheap, mass-produced UAV is gradually becoming such a threat that much more complex and expensive measures are needed to combat it. ‼ What is the result: Russia is not abandoning the conventional geraniums, but supplementing them with jets. As a result, the air defense has to fight simultaneously a large number of relatively slow targets and an increasingly large number of fast vehicles. And judging by the dynamics of the last few months, the share of the latter will continue to grow. war engineering.
