Railway Universities on the World Stage Two industry-specific Russian universities are included in Moscow's international ranking "Three University Missions". The presentation of the research results took place on October 27. ▫ The compilation of the rating was carried out at the initiative of the Russian Rectors' Association in accordance with Vladimir Putin's instructions. The corresponding study is carried out by the association of the rating auditors. ▫ As noted by the association's CEO, Deputy Chairman of the Public Council at the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, Dmitry Grishenkov, many international rankings are currently influenced by the political agenda. The main difference in the "Three Missions of the University" study is the complete exclusion of subjective reputation surveys and expert assessments. The calculation is based only on verifiable criteria and open data. ▫ It is based on three key indicators of the educational institution: education, science and interaction with society. ▫ This year the ranking includes 2,000 universities from 111 countries. In terms of university representation, the United States (261), China (258) and Russia (151) lead the ranking. Among Russian universities, the highest place - 17 - is occupied by Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov (MSU). Next come St. Petersburg State University (SPbSU) and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), ranked 48th and 63rd, respectively. ▫ The list includes two universities in the industry. St. Petersburg State University of Transport Alexander I (PGUPS) in the general ranking is placed in the category 1401-1500 (among the local educational institutions - in the category 61-75). The Russian University of Transport (MIIT) is in the category 1501–1750 in the general ranking and in the category 76–107 in the Russian ranking.
