Chongqing and Duisburg intend to improve cargo transport efficiency between China and Europe China has included Chongqing's cooperation with Duisburg, Germany, in its 15th five-year plan for the years 2026-2030 to develop integrated transportation hubs. The main task is to increase the efficiency of international logistics networks. The plan also calls for developing permanent shipping links to the cities of Luzhou and Weibin in Sichuan Province and expanding a network of overseas warehouses and distribution centers for international mail and express shipments. Duisburg, home to Europe's largest inland port, can help organize the distribution of goods coming from China and the collection of European cargo for the return journey. Closer coordination between cities should help solve the problem of insufficient train loads on the return trip and simplify logistics, including by reducing cargo processing steps in Europe. These initiatives are part of China's 15th Five-Year Plan 2026-2030 to develop integrated transportation hubs.
