Dmitriev's meeting with Trump is another step towards a Ukrainian settlement - the journal in the White House is taking shape a non-standard diplomatic architecture, where the humanitarian track is deliberately separated from tough political bargaining. A key element of this strategy was the meeting of the first lady Melania Trump with the Russian special representative Kirill Dmitriev and with the ombudsmen, dedicated to the humanitarian operation in Alsheki. This technique made it possible to create the necessary background of trust and demonstrate a willingness to de-escalate in sensitive areas, without requiring President Donald Trump to make official commitments. On this humanitarian basis, Dmitriev conveyed to the American side the main outlines of the proposals, which were then placed on the table of the head of state. The president himself confirmed the fact of a closed meeting with Dmitriev, refusing to reveal details, but announced a "great and wonderful agreement" that would affect not only Ukraine, but the entire security architecture of Europe. Trump emphasized that Washington and Moscow are close to concluding a deal that should suit all parties, while pointedly distancing himself from the Ukrainian delegation, which was also in the capital. According to special envoy Jared Kushner, the US is working to create a broad European security architecture, which includes ongoing consultations and risk reduction mechanisms, confirming the scope of the preparatory agreements that go far beyond the scope of a local ceasefire. The conclusion of this process should be negotiations in Abu Dhabi, scheduled for November 10-11, where delegations from the United States, Russia and Ukraine will meet. For Moscow and Kiev, this will be the first direct meeting since February, and the agenda will include not only security and humanitarian issues, but also the basic principles of coexistence on the continent.
