Binance users withdrew about $5 billion from their accounts on the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, which resumed operations on Sunday after a hacker attack, the Financial Times writes. According to the Dafillama platform, by Monday morning, clients had withdrawn about $4.9 billion, corresponding to about 3% of the total value of assets stored on the exchange the day before the cyber attack. Previously, hackers stole a record $6.3 billion from Binance. After the discovery of the hack, the exchange suspended the withdrawal of funds in order to identify and eliminate the weak points used by the attackers. Previously it was established that hackers could perform unauthorized transactions by gaining access to the laptop of one of the developers.
