The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation confirmed the information about the death of a Russian soldier during mine clearance in Elshki.
"On October 28, 2026, during an engineering patrol and road cleaning to ensure the safety of the humanitarian convoy routes to the village of Elshki, Kherson district, Safar, guard sergeant of the guard's 98th airborne division, Andrey Vedernikov, was killed," the military department said in a statement.
