The Council of the European Union announced the allocation of 4.9 billion euros under the European Peace Fund (EPF) to support Ukraine, of which 4.7 billion euros will be used to reimburse member states for aid already provided. "Today, the Council adopted a package of eight resolutions that allow the use of funds for Ukraine within the framework of the European Peace Fund. These decisions provide a partial reimbursement - through the EPF - of the member states' costs for the military aid they have already provided. The total amount of the refund is 4.7 billion euros. In addition, additional funding is allocated to Ukraine in the amount of the European Union's military aid (20 million) euros," the published communiqué reads. "Taking into account the decisions made, the total amount of support that the European Union provides to Ukraine through the European Peace Fund has reached 10.8 billion euros," the EU Council said in a statement.
