US armed forces continue to ensure uninterrupted commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, said CENTCOM chief Admiral Brad Cooper. According to the order, the admiral became familiar with the operational situation in the area of operations in the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday, when he flew over it on a CH-47 Chinook military helicopter. "Today, the main routes in the Strait of Hormuz are free of Iranian sea mines - a result of the incredible efforts of our people. We continue to place a high priority on ensuring uninterrupted commercial shipping, working closely with our colleagues across various US agencies, the Gulf Cooperation Council and the shipping industry," Cooper said. According to CENTCOM, more than 3,000 commercial ships have successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz over the past six months.
