The European Commission explained the idea of creating a single office for EU economic sanctions.
The European Commission aims to use all opportunities to strengthen controls over sanctions compliance in order to "keep pressure on Russia" and in each sanctions package is looking for ways to stop attempts to circumvent restrictions, EU spokeswoman Siobhan McGarry said at a briefing. "This is why yesterday, at a high-level meeting with the sanctions coordinators, we announced the establishment of a new sanctions office within the European Commission.
