The Russian Foreign Ministry considered the results of the elections in Bulgaria to be an overestimation by the voters of the reality in Europe.
Russia sees Ilyana Yutova's victory in the Bulgarian presidential election as a tendency to reassess the political reality in Europe and a desire to strengthen parties based on independent politics, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday. "We see this fact as further evidence of growing trends in the various European countries for citizens to reassess political reality on the basis of healthy pragmatism, strengthening the positions of the parties that are ready to promote a similar approach based on national interests, on real values, on sovereignty," Zakharova said during the briefing.
